## Job Description
This position is responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation. Facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, case managers, nursing staff, other patient care givers and medical record coding staff. Ensures that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of service rendered to all patients regardless of payment methodology: however with special emphasis on government payers utilizing DRG, MSDRG and APDRG based payer. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and medical center outcomes. Educates all members of the patient care team on ongoing basis.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR PROFESSIONAL
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSE: State of Louisiana License
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a registered nurse with a minimum of three (3) years clinical experience. Knowledge in case management, utilization review or clinical documentation analysis is desired.
SPECIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Effective working relationships with members of the health care delivery team. Demonstrated communication skills including strong presentation abilities. Knowledge of quality improvement principles and techniques; superior data analysis and problem solving skills. Proficient in basis computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience within a Meditech environment preferred. Knowledge of state and federal regulations and accrediting agency standards.
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS KNOWLEDGE: Computer and other office equipment as it relates to the job. Safety equipment as it relates to the job. Medical equipment as it relates to patient care.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.

Schedule: 7A - 3:30PEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
