PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Licensed Practical Nurse assists in giving direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, utilizing the knowledge and skills of practical nursing. The LPN is directly accountable to the registered nurse.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR PROFESSIONAL
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Vocational School of Practical Nursing.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSE: Licensed through the State of Louisiana. CPR Certification required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice under the supervision of a RN.
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS KNOWLEDGE: Computers and other office equipment as it relates to job. Safety equipment as it relates to job. Medical equipment as it relates to patient care.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time. Must be able to lift using proper body mechanics.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
