PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the operation of a telephone answering service, answering a multi-line telephone for all doctor related and on call employee phone calls. Work involves responsibility for courteously, promptly and accurately receiving calls and delivering messages to doctors and calling to work on call employees as needed. Also provides several distinct clerical functions. Assists in training of other communication operators.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR PROFESSIONAL
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Previous telephone answering service and/or PBX experience is desired.
SPECIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Typing 50 WPM and general office skills. Telephone answering service skills. Ability to communicate with public in a prompt, efficient, courteous manner. Good speaking voice. Must be able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS KNOWLEDGE: Computers and other office equipment as it relates to the job. Safety equipment as it relates to the job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
