The functions within the Patient Access Department include but are not limited to the Financial Clearance work unit, (Pre-Registration, Authorization and Insurance Verification) and Patient Access work until (DC, AO, ED, Endo, Cancer Center, Cath) along with Virtual Registration Command Center.
Maintains a thorough knowledge base in third party reimbursement mechanisms and requirements.
Interprets these rules/regulations/requirements for hospital staff.
Review contracts the hospital has with payers and appropriateness for inpatient admission sections Develops and manages operational initiatives with measurable outcomes.
Formulates objectives, goals and strategies collaboratively with other stakeholders, as needed.
Establishes annual financial goals and actively uses benchmarking to high performing systems in similar area of expertise to get annual targets.
Contributes to the success of LRMC by providing leadership, direction and coordination of the operations finances and human resources for area of responsibility.
