The Nurse Tech is responsible for assisting the delivery of basic nursing care under the direction and general supervision of a Registered Nurse.
In complex patient situations the intern will work under the direct supervision of an RN.
The Nurse Tech will not perform any procedure that requires licensing by the State (i.
e.
passing medications, nursing diagnosis, or admission assessment).
Standards must comply with the State Nurse Practice Act.
Minimum Requirements Educational and/or Professional
Qualifications:
Must be within 12 months of graduation from nursing program.
Required Certification, Registration, License:
CPR Required
Experience:
Entry level position Special Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of procedures and techniques administering simple treatment and related bedside patient care services.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology; organizational skills.
Equipment and Materials Knowledge:
Medical equipment as it relates to patient care; Computer equipment needed for assigned duties; safety equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift using proper body mechanics.
